About the expedition

We invite you to join an expedition to the heart of the Himalayas – Annapurna Base Camp. This is a unique valley, surrounded by towering, snow-capped peaks, the highest of which – Annapurna I – stands at 8,091 metres. During this expedition, you’ll experience the majesty of Himalayan nature, interwoven with the rich spirituality and unique customs of the people of Nepal.

We will be hiking along a well-trodden route that allows us to savour the charms of the Annapurna region. We’ll begin our trek to Tikhedhung, pass through the famous Ulleri steps, reach Ghorepani, and admire the unique natural beauty of the Nepalese landscape – colourful rhododendron forests; along the way, we may also encounter wildlife, such as the numerous species of monkeys found here. Our first reward for our perseverance will be the beautiful view from Poon Hill (3,210 m). Imagine the spectacle at dawn, when the rising sun gradually reveals the mountain ranges and peaks from the darkness – Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Machhapuchhare, the sacred mountain of the Nepalese. It is a breathtaking view.

The next important stage and the culmination of our trekking hike, will be reaching base camp at Annapurna. Here, in this mountainous amphitheatre, you’ll enjoy a unique experience as you watch the sun rise over this extraordinary eight-thousander. For the local people, Deothal – as they call this valley hidden amongst the peaks – is a place of spiritual renewal and tranquillity. Perhaps you, too, will experience a similar feeling when you stand here? The massive face of Annapurna will make you truly feel the power of an eight-thousander; it’s an extraordinary feeling to have it so close, so mighty.

After returning from the mountains, we’ll spend some time in beautiful Pokhara and then explore Kathmandu. You’ll visit, amongst other things, the Buddhist Monkey Temple (Swayambunath), amazing sites listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Boudhanath – one of the world’s most famous Buddhist stupas; Pashupatinath, the largest Hindu temple in Nepal; and the main royal square – Durbar Square.
This 16-day trek to the Annapurna Sanctuary is an adventure designed for hikers who wish to reach their destination without rushing or overexerting themselves, whilst exploring the most fascinating sights of Kathmandu, Pokhara and marvelling at the exceptional panoramic views of the mountain giants.

As this trek reaches a maximum altitude of less than 5,000 metres, it is often chosen as the first Himalayan trek for mountain enthusiasts. Of course, this does not mean that the adventure should be taken lightly. The route is known for its numerous steps and ascents and descents, so you’ll need to prepare yourself for this adventure!

We’re offering you a tried-and-tested, tailor-made itinerary that will allow you to get the most out of this magical journey.

Please note: the price includes domestic flights for your convenience!
