This route will take you through a variety of landscapes, from 800 metres above sea level up to an impressive 5,416 metres above sea level.

Initially, the route will be gentle, taking you through terraced rice fields, picturesque villages and dense forests, which offer a sense of tranquillity and closeness to nature. As we climb higher, you’ll experience a harsher climate and be able to admire the majesty of the Himalayan peaks up close.

Before setting off on the trek, you’ll also discover Nepal’s extraordinary capital – Kathmandu, founded in 723. The city is full of monuments listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. During your visit, you will explore the impressive Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, where you will have the opportunity to observe traditional burial rituals, the Buddhist sanctuary of Boudhanath, and the central Durbar Square, which is the pride of the capital’s residents.

Detailed programme

Day 1 – Welcome to Nepal
Day 2 – Exploring Kathmandu.
Day 3 – The journey from Kathmandu to Bahundada.
Day 4 – The journey from Bahundada to Chame (2,670 m).
Day 5 – Hike to Upper Pisang (3,300 m). The hike takes about 6 hours.
Day 6 – From Upper Pisang to the village of Nawal (3,660 m), a trek of around 5 hours.
Day 7 – Trek from Nawal to Manang (3,519 m). The walk takes about 4 hours.
Day 8 – Acclimatisation in Manang and trek to Ice Lake (4,600 m)
Day 9 – Manang to Yak Kharka (4,050 m). A trek of around 4 hours.
Day 10 – From Yak Kharka to Thorong La high camp (4,833 m) via Thorang Phedi. Around 6 hours’ walk.
Day 11 – A trek over the Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), followed by a journey to Muktinath. A total of around 8 hours.
Day 12 – Exploring Muktinath and travelling to Jomsom.
Day 13 – Morning flight to Pokhara, sightseeing in Pokhara.
Day 14 – Return to Kathmandu by tourist coach. Alternatively, by domestic flight.
Day 15 – A full day exploring magical Kathmandu.
Day 16 – Farewell and the journey home.
