About the expedition

Nepal | Everest Base Camp 5,364 m | Ama Dablam Base Camp 4,600 m | 17 days

You don’t go to the Himalayas just to „tick it off your list”; you go there to experience something.

The Khumbu region is not just about Everest. It is about the vastness, the altitude, the rhythm of the walk, the scent of juniper burning near the monasteries, and the sound of the Dudh Koshi River, which accompanies us during the first few days of the trek. It is the people – the Sherpas – who have lived in the shadow of the world’s highest mountains for generations.

This itinerary has been carefully planned. It has been designed not only to take you to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m), but also to allow you to experience the Himalayas even more fully; that is why we are also taking you to Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,600 m) – a place that is less frequently visited, quieter and more rugged. For many people, this is where the real mountain experience begins.

The first few days are all about getting into the rhythm of the mountains. The flight to Lukla – short, intense, with views of the mountain ranges, which, seen up close, prove to be more imposing than one could ever imagine. Then a trek along the river, across suspension bridges, and the first long ascent to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m).

Namche is more than just an acclimatisation stop. It is the natural heart of the region – a place where languages, cultures and tales of expeditions intermingle. It is from here that you will see Everest for the first time from the right perspective. And it is here that you begin to realise that altitude demands humility. In the Himalayas, it is not the strongest who wins. It is the patient who wins.

Ama Dablam Base Camp – a moment of silence

Before we set off towards Everest Base Camp, we veer off the main route of the classic trek and head towards Ama Dablam. Ama Dablam is one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Its silhouette is almost perfect – sharp, clean, architectural. At the base camp below it, there are no crowds; instead, there is space, a rugged landscape and a real sense of being high up in the mountains. This is one of the most deliberately planned elements of this expedition. Many participants later say that it was there that they experienced the most powerful moment of the entire trek. It’s a place where you’ll meet climbers planning to ascend the mountain or those who have already made the attempt!

Everest Base Camp – history and reality

Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) isn’t a pretty, „Instagram-worthy” place. It’s a glacial moraine – rock, ice and wind. And that’s precisely why it’s authentic. You’re standing in the very spot from which historic expeditions set out, and from which many daredevils still plan their ascent of the world’s highest peak. You know that beyond this glacier lies a zone of incredible challenge, and sometimes… even death. You feel tired, but also a huge sense of satisfaction – because you’ve made it here under your own steam.

And the next morning, you set off for Kala Patthar (5,545 m). Sunrise over Everest is one of those experiences that cannot be captured in a photograph. The light slowly creeps over Lhotse and Nuptse, finally touching the summit of Everest. The silence is absolute. For many people, this is the highlight of the entire expedition.

A well-thought-out route, not a random pattern

This trek is not a carbon copy of the standard Lukla–EBC–return itinerary. We head to Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,600 m) and return via a different, less crowded route through Phortse, spacing out the key days at high altitude to allow the body time to acclimatise. The highlights of the itinerary:

  • Everest Base Camp – 5,364 m
  • Kala Patthar – 5,545 m
  • Ama Dablam Base Camp – 4,600 m

These are altitudes that call for a sensible approach. That is why pace and acclimatisation are an integral part of the plan, rather than an afterthought.

Safety is a cornerstone, not just a slogan

The Himalayas are beautiful, but above 4,000 metres, it’s the systematic approach that counts. During any high-altitude expedition:

  • we monitor acclimatisation and oxygen saturation (pulse oximeter),
  • we respond flexibly to the group’s mood,
  • we have evacuation procedures and genuine local support,
  • We operate as a Polish tour operator and a licensed Nepalese agency.

In addition, we work with MedEverest – specialists in high-altitude medicine. Participants have the opportunity to take advantage of medical packages and pre-departure consultations on preferential terms. This is genuine support, not just a marketing ploy.

Who is this trek for?

This trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) via Ama Dablam Base Camp (4,600 m) is a high-altitude trek of moderate difficulty, but one that requires a good level of fitness and a sensible approach to altitude. It is a good choice for people who:

  • regularly take part in sports (mountain walking, running, cycling, going to the gym),
  • have experience of long hikes (6–8 hours a day),
  • are able to cope with the basic conditions of a lodge at an altitude of over 4,000 metres,
  • they understand that above 3,000 metres the body functions differently,
  • are prepared for changeable weather conditions and a flexible programme.

What should you expect physically?

  • a few days’ walk of 6–7 hours,
  • the highest overnight stay above 5,100 m,
  • a climb to Kala Patthar (5,545 m) at dawn,
  • limited sanitary facilities in the higher-altitude lodges,
  • chilly nights at high altitude.

This isn’t technical trekking – we don’t use crampons or ropes.
But this is the Himalayas, at an altitude of over 5,000 metres, which requires proper preparation. Before you set off, we’ll help you with your training plan, choosing the right kit and acclimatisation. In collaboration with MedEverest We also offer medical consultations and preparatory packages in the field of high-altitude medicine.

Why should you travel with us?

1. Dual legality and genuine accountability.

We operate as a Polish tour operator and a licensed trekking agency in Nepal.
This means full legal and insurance cover in Poland, as well as direct organisation of the trip on the ground – with no intermediaries.

2. A well-thought-out acclimatisation plan.

The 17-day programme is designed to build depth, rather than to enable students to „pass the ECB quickly”.
Acclimatisation days in Namche and Dingboche, the right sequence of ascents, a sensible pace.

3. A permanent, experienced team.

We have been working with the same team for years – they are, first and foremost, Sherpas. They grew up in these mountains; they know every route variation, the local conditions and the realities of the season. They are naturally acclimatised to the altitude and, in addition, receive regular training in high-altitude safety. We work with MedEverest, and our guides are trained to recognise and respond to altitude-related issues. Local expertise + a modern approach to safety.

4. Safety system.

  • oxygen saturation monitoring,
  • first-aid kit for high-altitude use,
  • evacuation and rescue procedures,
  • KL/NNW insurance covering trekking in the Himalayas,
  • cooperation with MedEverest in the field of medical preparation and support.

We don’t improvise at 5,000 metres.

5. The best value for money.

We offer very competitive prices whilst maintaining high organisational standards. We do not cut corners on the key elements of the expedition. During the trek, we provide full board – a choice of dishes from the lodge menu (breakfast, lunch, dinner), rather than a limited selection of meals. We book tried-and-tested lodges in advance and ensure genuine comfort along the route.

We operate both as a Polish tour operator and a Nepalese trekking agency – this allows us to be operationally flexible on the ground. We have long-standing relationships with lodge owners, airlines and local partners, which often makes all the difference in the Himalayas.

6. Small groups.

A small group = a better pace, greater safety and personalised attention from the guide.
We do not organise mass tours and, unlike anyone else in the country, we know all about organising expeditions in Nepal.

Discover Kathmandu and its Attractions

After your trek in the Himalayas, you’ll also have the chance to explore Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, and discover its most famous attractions, such as the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the Boudhanath stupa and the central Durbar Square, all of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The time you spend in the Thamel district will allow you to soak up the unique atmosphere of the region and experience the warmth of the locals.
