Ama Dablam (6,812 m above sea level) is one of the most recognisable mountains in the Himalayas and a dream destination for many mountaineers. Its distinctive pyramidal silhouette dominates the Khumbu Valley, and the climb itself combines spectacular views with a genuine technical challenge.
This a full-scale mountaineering expedition in Nepal, rather than a trekking peak. Steep ice sections, exposed ridges and rocky sections require experience, concentration and the ability to use high-altitude equipment.

Why acclimatisation on a 6,000-metre peak increases your chances of summiting Ama Dablam
Altitudes above 6,000 metres present an extreme environment for the human body. That is why in our the extended version of the Ama Dablam expedition We offer the opportunity to undertake an early acclimatisation climb on one of the Himalayan six-thousanders:
Island Peak (6,185 m) or Lobuche Peak (6,090 m)
This approach is used on many professional high-altitude expeditions, in line with the principle of acclimatising on an easier peak.

Expedition safety – collaboration with MedEverest

Climbing at altitudes above 6,000 metres poses a huge challenge to the body. That is why, on our expeditions, we place particular emphasis on ensuring participants are in good health and on monitoring the acclimatisation process.

At Meroway, we work with a team MedEverest, run by Dr Robert Szymczak, PhD (Med.) – a doctor specialising in high-altitude medicine and a participant in numerous Himalayan expeditions. As a result, every participant on our expedition is covered by Telemedicine Starter Pack, which provides professional medical support before departure, during the expedition and afterwards. What does this mean in practice?

The nature of the expedition

Our expedition combines acclimatisation trekking in the Khumbu Valley with the actual mountaineering ascent of Ama Dablam.

During the expedition:

We’ll follow the classic route through the Everest region, acclimatising as we trek
We organise rotations at high-altitude camps
We are gradually building up our acclimatisation
We’re preparing for the summit push and, of course, we’re adopting the best strategy to reach the summit and return safely to base camp

The expedition programme is flexible and adapted to weather conditions and the team’s capabilities.

Who is this trip for?

Ama Dablam is a major mountaineering expedition. This trip is designed for people who:

have experience in high mountains or mountaineering
are able to move around in crampons and use ice axes
have experience on exposed roads
are in very good physical condition and good health

This is not a trekking expedition, nor is it intended as a first high-altitude summit.

Day 1 – Welcome to Nepal
Day 2 – Preparing for a mountain adventure and the journey to Ramechap.
Day 3 – The start of our mountain adventure. Flight to Lukla and trek to Phading (2,610 m)
Day 4 – Hike to Namche (3,440 m), around 7 hours.
Day 5 – Active acclimatisation in Namche and the surrounding area.
Day 6 – Namche to Tyangboche (3,860 m), about 5 hours.
Day 7 – Tyangboche to Pheriche.
Day 8 – Pheriche – Lobuche village.
Day 9 – From Lobuche village to Gorakshep, Everest Base Camp, then back to Gorakshep.
Day 10 – Gorakshep to Kalapathar, trek to Lobuche village.
Day 11 – From Lobuche village via Kongma La to Chhukung.
Day 12 – Chhukung to the Island Peak Base Camp.
Day 13 – An active rest day, training, ascent plan.
Day 14 – Ascent of Island Peak, return to Base Camp.
Day 15 – From Island Peak Base Camp to Pangboche.
Day 16 – Pangboche to Ama Dablam Base Camp.
Days 17–26 – Activities in the mountains, climbing Ama Dablam.
Day 27 – From Ama Dablam Base Camp to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)
Day 28 – The trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla.
Day 29 – Lukla, flight to Ramechap, return to Kathmandu. Free time.
Day 30 – Time to say goodbye. Departure from Nepal.

Insurance

Basic travel insurance covering medical expenses, accident cover, third-party liability and mountain rescue costs. However, given the nature of the expedition, additional insurance is recommended to provide greater cover in the event that assistance is required on the AD.

Meroway Adventure Nepal zasługuje na najwyższe uznanie za fantastyczną organizację, pełen profesjonalizm i dbałość o każdy szczegół. Cała wyprawa przebiegała sprawnie, bezpiecznie i zgodnie z planem.

Od rezerwacji noclegów, przez organizację posiłków po opiekę przewodników, których na koniec nazywaliśmy aniołami stróżami(widzieli wszystko sekundę zanim się wydarzyło :) ) - wszystko dopięte na ostatni guzik. A do tego Ngodu i Palden przez całą wyprawę budowali doskonałą atmosferę, odpowiadali na wszystkie pytania(trzeba pamiętać, że w Nepalu jest zawsze płasko ... ;)) i byli po prostu świetnymi kompanami w przemierzaniu rejonu Khumbu. Jako niedawny uczestnik ww. szkolenia jestem pod ogromnym wrażeniem jak merytorycznie został on przygotowany i przeprowadzony. Szkolenie to nie było "suchą teorią", ale wypelnione było ogromną ilością zajęć praktycznych. Każdy kolejny dzień szkolenia był logiczną kontynuacją poprzedniego. Ważnym ogniwem spajającym teorie i praktykę, byli ludzie którzy je prowadzili 🫶. Profesjonaliści z ogromnym doświadczeniem wysokogórskim, a przy tym niesamowicie wielkimi zapasami cierpliwości :) Dosłownie, każde (nawet najprostsze) pytanie spotykało się z wyczerpującą i życzliwą odpowiedzią. Instruktorzy bacznie obserwowali każdego z nas, korygowali błędy na bieżąco i dawali spersonalizowane wskazówki, dzięki czemu każdy robił postępy we własnym tempie. Po ukończeniu szkolenia czuję się znacznie pewniej i okazało się, że nie taki diabeł straszny jak o malują :D Zdecydowanie polecam każdemu, kto poważnie myśli o górach wysokich i chce przygotować się do nich w odpowiedzialny sposób !!! :)
