Places worth visiting include Durbar Square, Pashupatinath – the largest Hindu temple in Nepal – and the Boudhanath Stupa, home to the world’s most famous Buddhist stupa. All these sites are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The Thamel district: A bustling district of Kathmandu, full of cafés, restaurants and market stalls. It’s the perfect place to sample local dishes and buy souvenirs. Thamel also offers an excellent opportunity to learn the art of haggling.
The Temple of the Monkeys: This temple offers a breathtaking view of the Kathmandu Valley, providing unforgettable vistas and a sense of tranquillity.

Detailed programme

Day 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu. Welcome to Nepal! Namaste!
After arriving and checking in, you can relax or visit Swayambhunath Temple, known as the Monkey Temple, which is a 20-minute walk from Thamel. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 – Exploring the Kathmandu Valley.
You will visit the Pashupatinath Temple, the Bouddhanath Stupa and Durbar Square. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3 – Journey from Kathmandu to Chitwan. Visit to a Tharu village.
On arrival in Chitwan, you’ll visit a Tharu village and have the chance to watch a romantic sunset over the river. Overnight stay.
Day 4 – Exploring Chitwan.
An elephant safari, kayaking or a visit to an elephant farm. Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 5 – Birdwatching experience, return to Kathmandu, gala dinner with a cultural programme.
Morning birdwatching, return to Kathmandu and an evening meal featuring traditional Nepalese cuisine.
Day 6 – Farewell, end of the programme.
If you’re heading home, your guide will take you to the airport. Thank you for joining us on this trip, and we wish you a safe journey home.
