Lobuche Peak + trek to Everest Base Camp from Gokyo

Enjoy an extraordinary Himalayan expedition, culminating in the summit of Lobuche East, and a trek to the base camp below the world’s highest mountain. From the summit of Lobuche you will have the opportunity to enjoy a spectacular panorama including: Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and the charming “unmarried daughter” of the Himalayas, as the Nepalese say – Pumori. The main goal of this expedition is to climb Lobuche Peak, while a beautiful complement is trekking around the world’s highest mountain and Sagarmatha Park.

This expedition is available to people in very good physical condition who are looking for a challenge greater than Himalayan trekking alone. However, no climbing experience is necessary.

This expedition will be ideal if you want to try your hand at your first or next Himalayan peak before moving higher or just – all the way there! You are cordially invited!

Note: it is possible to rent climbing equipment on site, so you don’t have to bring it with you to Nepal.

To ascend Lobuche you only need very basic climbing knowledge, very good fitness is essential, however.

The expedition has been planned so that you will not only climb to the summit, but also explore the heart of the Khumbu Valley, including the Sherpas’ capital Namche Bazaar. You’ll also appreciate the charms of the remarkable Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s home to diverse, rich Himalayan flora and fauna. You’ll learn about the unique culture of the region’s inhabitants. You will be transported to the stunning land of Himalayan peaks covered in snow and ice, and visit Kala Pathar – considered by many to be the most beautiful viewpoint in the Himalayas. On your way to Lobuche Peak from the base camp below Everest, you will be able to see the icefall of terror – Khumbu (Ice Fall), a real challenge for climbers of the world’s highest mountain. Khumbu is moving at the speed of one meter per day, avalanches descend there almost one after another, with a bang huge ice blocks topple over. During the trip we will also visit the beautiful Gokyo Lakes and before climbing Lobuche, we will do some concrete acclimatization by crossing Cho La Pass (5390M).

During the trip you will also visit Kathmandu, the unique capital of Nepal, and its surroundings. You will be able to admire the Hindu Pashupatinath temple, the largest in Nepal, the Boudhanath Shrine or the central royal square, Durbar Square, among others. All of these are true cultural gems from the UNESCO World Heritage list. You will also see the Swayambunath temple, known as the Monkey Temple. There will be no shortage of time to relax in the tourist district – Thamel, where in the maze of streets, stalls and cafes, you will quickly feel the distinctive atmosphere of this remarkable city.

Our trip will begin with a flight to Lukla, which is already an exciting experience in itself. From there we will set off full of energy to meet Lobuche Peak. The itinerary has been planned so that participants will have adequate time for acclimatization and will be well prepared for the ascent of the peak itself. All this is for the greater safety and comfort of the Participants.

Program

Day 1 - Welcome to Nepal

Day 2 - Prepare for the mountain adventure and travel to Ramechap.to Namche (3440m)

Day 3 - The start of the mountain adventure. Flight to Lukla and trek to Phading (2610m)

Day 4 - Phading to Namche (3440m), about 7 hours.

Day 5 - Active acclimatization in Namche and the surrounding area.

Day 6 - Namche to Dhole (4200m), about 7 hours.

Day 7 - Dhole to Machermo (4470m), about 5 hours.

Day 8 - Machermo to Gokyo (4790m), about 5 hours.

Day 9 - Gokyo Ri and hike to Thangak (4690m)

Day 10 - Thangak to Dzongla (4830m) via Cho La Pass (5380m).

Day 11 - Dzongla to Lobuche High Camp, 5400 M. Approximately 6 hours.

Day 12 - Preparation for climbing, training.

Day 13 - Climb Lobuche Peak (6060m)! Return to High Camp, rest and trek to Lobuche (4910M). Total of about 11 hours.

Day 14 - Lobuche to Gorakshep, Base Camp below Everest, return to Gorakshep. Total of about 9 hours.

Day 15 - Gorakshep/Lobuche to Tyangbuche.

Day 16 - Tyangboche to Jorsale via Namche Bazaar.

Day 17 - Jorsale - Lukla.

Day 18 - Lukla, flight to Ramechap, return to Kathmandu. Free time.

Day 19 - Getting to know Kathmandu.

Day 20 - Reserve Day.

Day 21 - Time to say goodbye. Departure from Nepal.

The price does not include any hidden costs. The offer has been prepared so as to provide comprehensive benefits, we created it on the basis of our experience and the preferences of existing customers. Please read the details of the offer below.

There is a possibility to resign from food in the benefits and pay for food on your own (applies to the trekking part). Then the cost of the expedition is lower by about 250 -300 USD. Please let us know in this regard at the time of booking.

My family and I have already traveled around the world, but nowhere else have we had such good care ( thx Furden;) ) or such a well-tailored program. Everything was as we wanted and when we wanted it, including the express rescheduling of a helicopter flight to Annapurna base camp because the weather was forecast to break, or arranging alternate transportation after internal flights between Pokhara and Kathmandu were canceled (Furden was invaluable here!) . I first met the Meroway hosts nine years ago, even before the agency was established, so I'm a bit of their "godfather." And during the trek they took care of me like a family member. And we ended up in extremely unfavorable conditions, and this care and help was really needed. It is the quality of the agency that proves itself not in sunny weather and a trouble-free trip, but when complications arise, to name a few: constant rain, landslides and rockslides blocking the roads not only for jeeps but also for pedestrians, or, at higher altitudes, the surprise of winter conditions in the middle of autumn. I highly recommend.

I was with Meroway on a trek to the base camp under the EBC via the CHOLO PASS and GOYKO pass from 7-30/10/2022. The excellent care of professional and experienced guides allowed us to achieve all our planned goals. In addition, the organizer turned out to be very flexible and allowed us to change the initial route so as to pass the beautiful CHOLO PASS. I highly recommend trips with them:) It was divine.

Thanks to Meroway, the Gokyo/Basecamp trek was, without any doubt, the adventure of our lives! It was perfectly organized and planned down to the last detail. We met wonderful and kind people there, especially our guide Ngim, who was helpful and professional all the time and our always smiling porter, strong, fast and very helpful. For helping us with our backpacks as we struggled during the climb up Cho La Pass, for teaching us Nepali card games, for instructing us on what to eat and what is better to avoid in the high mountains. My girlfriend and I completed the Everest Base Camp Trek and Mera Peak Trek with Meroway and it was amazing! Everything was well organized and efficient, everyone involved was friendly and knowledgeable! I spent three weeks in the magical land that is the Himalayas. I had been to the Himalayas three times, but this time with my family. And for that very reason I needed professional care. Takie opinie czytałam, slyszałam jak planowaliśmy ten trip. To jest kompletnie nieprawda. Nie wiem z jakimi agencjami i przewoźnikami ci ludzie mieli do czynienia, ale nasze doświadczenia są całkowicie inne. To była moja pierwsza podróż do Nepalu, mojego partnera kolejna, ale to było dawno temu. Od samego początku dostaliśmy mnóstwo informacji, które nam były potrzebne, szybką odpowiedź na każdego maila, wszystko rozpisane krok po kroku. Mam wrażenie, że Nima i Paulina byli tylko dla nas. Po przylocie zostaliśmy odebrani przez Nime z lotniska w środku nocy a w dodatku nie musieliśmy się martwić o hotel na te parę godzin, wszystko było dograne. I tak to trwało przez następne kilkanaście dni. Każdy dzień zaplanowany, przewodnik super przyjacielski gość z sercem na dłoni. Podróż z nim była przyjemnością. Od pierwszego dnia czułam, że to jest człowiek godny zaufania. Poszliśmy na 9 dni w góry i nie wyobrażam sobie aby było inaczej. Podczas trekingu nie musieliśmy martwić się o NIC. Wszystko było zaplanowane, zarezerwowane, wszystkie pozwolenia, bilety, transport (przed i po). Byliśmy zaopiekowani w każdym momencie. Był naszym przewodnikiem, opiekunem i nepalskim bratem. Przez całą drogę nosił owoce aby każdego dnia po obiedzie zrobić nam deser. Tak wiem, wielu tak robi, ale wiecie jak smakuje jabłko z granatem i bananem na ponad 4000 metrów po kilku ciężkich dniach marszu z pełnym plecakiem (nie mieliśmy tragarza), kiedy twój organizm jest kompletnie wyjałowiony a dal bhat nie zaspokaja twojego pragnienia na witaminy 🙃. Zawsze mówię, że małe rzeczy potrafią uczynić cuda. Cały ten trip był magią, moje największe marzenie zostało spełnione i dzięki Meroway było magiczne.
A wspólna kolacja z uczestnikami innych wypraw w cudownej nepalskiej restauracji, z fantastycznym jedzeniem, pokazem tańców to była wisienka na torcie.
