Trekking to Everest Base Camp through the Gokyo Lakes is one of the favorite routes of travelers from around the world. It is exceptionally beautiful for good reason. This program is an extended version of the traditional Trekking to Everest Base Camp, and we recommend it to anyone who can spend a few more days in Nepal than needed for the basic version of the trek. It is really worth it!

This 20-day trek to Gokyo Lakes and base camp under Everest is a wonderful adventure. We will go to the base camp under the world’s largest mountain, explore the beautiful Gokyo Valley with its unique cobalt lakes, climb one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the world- Gokyo Ri. We will cross the famous Cho La Pass (5420m), reach another remarkable viewpoint Kala Patthar (5545m), which will make our hearts beat stronger not only from exertion. We will learn about the region’s many sights, admire the majestic soaring mountains, the villages of the friendly Sherpas, including their capital Namche Bazaar, see thousands of prayer flags, visit a Buddhist monastery on our trail and much, much more. Gokyo, a hidden valley with beautiful cobalt lakes at the foot of the Himalayas, has its own reputation among adventurous tourists. Many trekkers are of the opinion that a tour of the Everest area and the base camp below this highest mountain in the world, only becomes complete when combined with a visit to the majestic Gokyo Valley and Cho La Pass. In addition to the tranquility of the icy waters of the lake, we will enjoy a 360-degree panorama of the massif of four of the world’s highest mountains and enjoy truly spectacular views that will remain in our memories for a lifetime.
Trekking to the base camp below Everest via Gokyo Lake requires preparation. It will be suitable only for physically fit and experienced hikers who enjoy a challenge. We welcome trekkers who are able to walk at least 6-7 hours a day, with a light backpack and have the enthusiasm to meet any difficulties.
Of course, during the trip you will also get to know Kathmandu – the amazing capital of Nepal, with its most famous attractions: the impressive Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the Boudhanath Shrine or the central royal square, Durbar Square. All are UNESCO World Heritage sites. You’ll also have time to relax in the city’s tourist district of Thamel, where strolling through the maze of streets, among hundreds of stalls, stores and cafes, you’ll quickly feel the unique atmosphere of the region and the genuine friendliness of its people towards visitors.

My family and I have already traveled around the world, but nowhere else have we had such good care ( thx Furden;) ) or such a well-tailored program. Everything was as we wanted and when we wanted it, including the express rescheduling of a helicopter flight to Annapurna base camp because the weather was forecast to break, or arranging alternate transportation after internal flights between Pokhara and Kathmandu were canceled (Furden was invaluable here!) . And we ended up in extremely unfavorable conditions, and this care and help was really needed. It is the quality of the agency that proves itself not in sunny weather and a trouble-free trip, but when complications arise, to name a few: constant rain, landslides and rockslides blocking the roads not only for jeeps but also for pedestrians, or, at higher altitudes, the surprise of winter conditions in the middle of autumn. In October 2017, my girlfriend and I spent a wonderful 18 days trekking to Everest Base Camp, and we would like to sincerely thank the entire Meroway Adventure team! If you are looking for people who will take you to the most beautiful regions on Earth - then Nima and Paulina from Meroway will be the best choice. The proposed date - wonderful. Sunshine, blue skies and that stunning view of the mountains. Care - excellent. Delicious food, extra quilts at night, toilet paper (and it's a rarity at these altitudes!), delicious cakes at the summit - Nima and his team were able to conjure up everything. Valuable talks in the evening, stories that will stay for a long time. Great people, an atmosphere to take your mind off work and focus on experiencing within the beautiful nature, the mountains. Very well planned acclimatization, the right amount of rest. Happy on the route 😊 Highly recommended. Fantastic adventure, superbly organized. Nima and Paulina - thank you for the best adventure together that you could only dream of! We will definitely meet again on a Himalayan expedition.

„Przewodnik, agencja turystyczna? - to jak wrzód na tyłku, piąte koło u wozu”, itd. Takie opinie czytałam, slyszałam jak planowaliśmy ten trip. To jest kompletnie nieprawda. Nie wiem z jakimi agencjami i przewoźnikami ci ludzie mieli do czynienia, ale nasze doświadczenia są całkowicie inne. To była moja pierwsza podróż do Nepalu, mojego partnera kolejna, ale to było dawno temu. Od samego początku dostaliśmy mnóstwo informacji, które nam były potrzebne, szybką odpowiedź na każdego maila, wszystko rozpisane krok po kroku. Mam wrażenie, że Nima i Paulina byli tylko dla nas. Po przylocie zostaliśmy odebrani przez Nime z lotniska w środku nocy a w dodatku nie musieliśmy się martwić o hotel na te parę godzin, wszystko było dograne. I tak to trwało przez następne kilkanaście dni. Każdy dzień zaplanowany, przewodnik super przyjacielski gość z sercem na dłoni. Podróż z nim była przyjemnością. Od pierwszego dnia czułam, że to jest człowiek godny zaufania. Poszliśmy na 9 dni w góry i nie wyobrażam sobie aby było inaczej. Podczas trekingu nie musieliśmy martwić się o NIC. Wszystko było zaplanowane, zarezerwowane, wszystkie pozwolenia, bilety, transport (przed i po). Byliśmy zaopiekowani w każdym momencie. Był naszym przewodnikiem, opiekunem i nepalskim bratem. Przez całą drogę nosił owoce aby każdego dnia po obiedzie zrobić nam deser. Tak wiem, wielu tak robi, ale wiecie jak smakuje jabłko z granatem i bananem na ponad 4000 metrów po kilku ciężkich dniach marszu z pełnym plecakiem (nie mieliśmy tragarza), kiedy twój organizm jest kompletnie wyjałowiony a dal bhat nie zaspokaja twojego pragnienia na witaminy 🙃. Zawsze mówię, że małe rzeczy potrafią uczynić cuda. Cały ten trip był magią, moje największe marzenie zostało spełnione i dzięki Meroway było magiczne.
A wspólna kolacja z uczestnikami innych wypraw w cudownej nepalskiej restauracji, z fantastycznym jedzeniem, pokazem tańców to była wisienka na torcie.

Really personalized the trip for our group. Excellent guide who shared cultural traditions, stories and history of the region. This was my first trek in the Himalayas and felt welcome from the minute we were picked up from the airport by the owner himself. Every hotel and tea house we stayed at during our three week stay was filled with good food and great memories.
